Car accident

A 51-YEAR-OLD man from Jiangxi died from injuries sustained in a car accident in Longhua District on Wednesday. According to a family member of the deceased, the man was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a car.

Frightened by the crash, the driver stopped the car. A second car, unaware of the situation, passed the first car and hit the man again. Several passers-by tried to save the man by moving the car, but he had already passed away.

Traffic accidents

A TOTAL of 921 road accidents involving primary and secondary school students under 15 have taken place in Shenzhen since the start of the year, causing 12 deaths and 37 injuries, according to data released by Shenzhen traffic police Wednesday.

An analysis of data from 2016 shows that student-related road accidents are most likely to occur from June to August. Up to 76 percent of the accidents have occurred in Longgang, Bao’an, Longhua and Guangming.

Direct flight

HAINAN Airlines plans to open a Shenzhen-Brisbane route by Sept. 20. This will be Hainan Airlines’ second intercontinental route in Shenzhen since the opening of the Shenzhen-Auckland route. The airline will have two flights each week, with departing flights Wednesdays and Sundays and return flights Mondays and Thursdays.
