A cool journey to Neverland
    2017-07-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THEATRICAL ice show production group Russian Ice Stars is set to bring the “Peter Pan on Ice” show to Shenzhen on July 22-23. Expect a fresh new take on the classic fantasy-adventure story, with Wendy, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, Tiger Lily and Peter himself performing acrobatics and zooming across the ice.

London’s chimneys, the Darling family home, the pirate haunts of Captain Hook and Tiger Lily’s camp all appear in this energetic, fun-filled “Peter Pan on Ice.” The Russian Ice Stars dazzles audiences with their gravity-defying dance moves, spins, stunts, sword-fights and flaming hoops, all executed in perfectly synchronized precision.

Medalists distinguished in national, European and Olympic competitions, the elite troupe of 60 Russian skaters and lead dancers combines classic ballet, acrobatics, circus antics and pantomime to bring the beloved characters to life, woven together with old world charm and a hefty dose of spectacle.

The performance is choreographed by Giuseppe Arena, an Italian artistic director engaged in many world-class extravaganzas, including the opening ceremony of the 2006 Turin Olympics, while the original score comes courtesy of Silvio Amato.

Time: 10 a.m., 3 p.m., July 22-23; July 22 also at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: 100-380 yuan

Venue: Shenzhen Gymnasium, Sungang Road West, Futian District (福田区笋岗西路深圳体育馆)

Metro: Line 3, Tongxinling Station (通新岭站), Exit C
