Contemporary art

“Beyond the Sea: International Contemporary Art Exhibition” is an exhibition featuring paintings, installations and photographic works by 28 artists, including Georg Baselitz, Daniel Richter, Jay Meuser, Enrico Bach, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Harry Callahan, Luo Zhongli and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Dates: Until Sept. 3

Venue: E Museum of Contemporary Art, 1/F, Creative Free Trade Zone, Binglang Road, Futian Bonded Zone (福田保税区槟榔道创意保税园首层E当代美术馆)

Shekou Maritime Museum

Shekou Maritime Museum has opened to the public for free. The museum has 1,000 specimens exhibited in six categories and serves as the city’s comprehensive maritime education base. Highlighted specimens include Chinese white dolphins and rare sea snails. Visitors can experience the undersea world with the museum’s complete array of audio, video and VR technologies.

Hours: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2:30-6:30 p.m.

Venue: Shekou Maritime Museum, beside Shekou Building, intersection of Shiyun and Nanshui roads, Nanshan District (南山区石云路与南水路交会处蛇口大厦旁蛇口海洋博物馆)

Metro: Line 2, Dongjiaotou Station (东角头站), Exit A

Exhibitions at SZ Museum

• Shanxi cultural relics

More than 200 treasures from the Northern Dynasties (386-581) unearthed in Shanxi Province are on display. It is the first time for the Shenzhen Museum to hold an exhibition specializing in the history of the period.

Dates: Until Aug. 20

• Fluorite

A variety of colorful fluorite unearthed in Hunan, Jiangxi and Henan provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are on display.

Dates: Until July 9

Venue: Shenzhen Museum, Block A, Civic Center, Futian District (福田区市民中心A区深圳博物馆新馆)

Metro: Line 2 or 4, Civic Center Station (市民中心站), Exit B

Video exhibition

The “In Search of Global Poetry: Videos From the Han Nefkens Collection” showcases 12 videos created by artists from different countries. The videos are on loan from Han Nefkens Foundation, a private nonprofit organization that supports contemporary creative projects.

Dates: Until July 9

Venue: He Xiangning Art Museum, 9013 Shennan Boulevard, Nanshan District (南山区深南大道9013号何香凝美术馆)
