Toilet renovation
YANTIAN District will build five standard toilets and seven artistic toilets, and renovate 125 toilets in parks, terminals, wet markets, gas stations, hospitals, tourist attractions, ports and sports venues this year. The Toilet Revolution strategy is to improve urban management, promote tourism and further develop the district into the “cleanest district” in the city.
The district will update the information on the Shenzhen Toilet Map on its WeChat account to enable residents to find the nearest toilet in the district.
Weekend concerts
THE first Shenzhen Weekend Square Concert by local arts troupes was held at Luohu Cultural Center on Sunday.
In the coming months until the end of December, 15 local music groups selected by the organizer, Shenzhen Mass Culture Association, will give more than 20 performances in public at parks, squares and opera houses to manifest local and original music.
The Weekend Square Concert is funded by the city’s publicity department to promote local cultural development, foster local music bands and tap local music talent.
Liantang Checkpoint
LIANGTANG Checkpoint, which is under construction, is expected to be put into operation next year, bringing the number of checkpoints to Hong Kong in the city to seven. The checkpoint in Luohu District was designed to handle 30,000 people a day with 23 exit and entry lanes, including 14 e-lanes.
New route
CHINA Southern Airlines will open a new route between Shenzhen and Zhanjiang in southwestern Guangdong Province starting from Wednesday. The flight will operate on a daily basis. It leaves Shenzhen at 8:20 a.m. and arrives at the Zhanjiang airport at 9:10 a.m. It returns from Zhanjiang at 9:55 a.m. and lands in Shenzhen at 11 a.m. During the promotion period, a single trip costs 400 yuan and a round-trip ticket costs 800 yuan.
