The 2017 Shenzhen “Pursue Your Dream” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for University Students, organized by the Human Resources and Social Security Administration of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen Education Bureau and Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, was launched at Shenzhen Polytechnic.

The competition will run till October and the total prize money for winning projects is 3.25 million yuan (US$478,000) with 500,000 yuan for the first prize.

Graduates are registered permanent residents of Shenzhen having graduated within the past five years from universities, colleges, vocational schools, technical schools or overseas returnees, students at universities, colleges, vocational schools and technical schools in Shenzhen and Shenzhen university students who have started a business in the city during their temporary absence from school, can take part in the competition.

The prerequisite for joining the competition is that candidates should intend to start a business or that their startup company registered in Shenzhen is less than three years old and they have a detailed startup project proposal for their company.

The organizer will provide an array of measures such as guidance by entrepreneurship mentors, guaranteed loans for entrepreneurship, promotion for startup projects and free offices to help with the projects.
