Motorcycle rider killed

A MAN was killed in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle at an intersection in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District, on Tuesday.

A witness of the accident said a large truck ran into a black motorbike at around 5 p.m. as the truck made a sudden U-turn at the intersection. The motorcycle was crushed under the truck, causing the death of the passenger, but the driver of the motorcycle was lucky to suffer only minor injuries.

New road

THE 3.8-kilometer southern section of Longlan Boulevard, a main road connecting Longhua and Futian districts, was officially opened Tuesday after an inauguration ceremony.

The boulevard’s 5-kilometer northern section was opened in May. Access to the main road will shorten the driving time from the center of Longhua to other areas and improve traffic conditions in the district.

Fake RedBull cans

SHENZHEN police recently raided an illegal workshop in Longgang District, in which more than 2 million fake RedBull cans have been made and sold to provinces around China. Twelve people were arrested in the raid and more than 20,000 fake RedBull cans and other production materials were confiscated.
