Ex-official prosecuted
GUO SHIJU, former director with the electronic information department of Shenzhen Municipal Economic, Trade and Information Commission, has been prosecuted for allegedly taking bribes.
Luohu District Procuratorate charged Guo with taking 1.759 million yuan (US$259,496) in bribes between 2010 and 2016, while Guo was serving as the director of two departments of the commission.
Innovation center
THE China-Israel International Innovation Center, a project between the Futian District Government and Yissum Research Development Co. of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, will be set up in Futian.
Futian will direct policy support and funds toward the establishment of the center, while Yissum will introduce a seeding fund and patent licensing and development projects of Hebrew University of Jerusalem to the center.
Instant detection
THE city’s market supervision commission delivered 10 vehicles, which can detect chemical residue in vegetables, to 10 subdistricts in Bao’an on Wednesday. The vehicles are each equipped with devices that can test food, edible oil and meat. It can detect chemical residue in a 1cm-thick vegetable sample within 10 minutes.
