A WOMAN was caught hiding 124 diamonds with a market value of 2.08 million yuan (US$306,800) under her bra when crossing Shatoujiao Checkpoint to enter the mainland July 4.
Customs officers found a pile of paper under the woman’s luggage when it went through the scanning machine. The pile of thick paper was later confirmed to be diamond certificates.
After a body check, officers found a total of 124 diamonds, weighing 17.344 grams hiding under her bra.
The case has been handed to the anti-smuggling department for further investigation.
