Rat in hotel
A TOURIST in Shenzhen, surnamed Feng, was bitten by a rat in a hotel near Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on Sunday night.
After a day-long journey in Shenzhen, Feng and his friends found the hotel to take a rest. He said that when he entered the washroom of his hotel room, a rat suddenly scurried to his feet and bit him. Accompanied by the person in charge of the hotel, Feng was vaccinated at a nearby hospital.
Seafood prices up
THE fishing-ban season in the South China Sea has been extended to three and a half months this year, which is one month longer than fishing-ban seasons in previous years. Due to the prolonged fishing ban, seafood markets in Shenzhen have responded quickly, as seafood prices have gone up for two months and imported seafood is becoming sought-after.
Wrong medicine
ON Thursday afternoon, a 2-year-old boy took his grandfather’s lipid-lowering drugs, mistaking them for candies. After he took the medicine, he vomited many times and was brought to a hospital.
The boy was discharged from the hospital after being treated. Lipid-lowering drugs could lead to low blood pressure, and even multiple organ failure, in a young child if ingested by mistake.
