Small change, big difference

Fanty Fan

How have you felt recently? I feel super, because I have received a great many complements. “Hey Fanty, you look beautiful.” “Hey Fanty, you are gorgeous.” Jojo even asked me, “Hi Fanty, are you in a relationship?”

Why do people think I look different? Is it because I had my hair cut and wear high heels? I guess it is because of a course I took.

Some days ago, Carol said to me: “Hi Fanty, I strongly recommend you to take this course!”

“What is it?” I asked.

“It’s about how to be an elegant lady,” she said.

Hearing this, I couldn’t help bursting into laughter. However, miracles happened after I took the course.

What did I learn in this course? Generally speaking, I learned how to stand, how to sit and how to walk properly. In the first class, the teacher said: “Try your best to stand as elegantly as possible.” I said to myself “Easy!” I took a deep breath, stood straight and held my hands in front of my stomach. I thought my posture was perfect. I felt pleased, waiting for the teacher’s praise. “Not bad,” the teacher said. “How about this? One leg moves forward a little bit. Hands set aside. Smile. This is the most attractive posture for a lady.”

Do you think so? How shall we sit? Sit straight. Put legs together, and hands on our thighs. For ladies, we can also move one foot behind the other, or put our legs and hands to the side. These are formal postures. Do we have postures for photos? Yes, we do. Turn right. One leg curls. The other stays straight. One hand on the knee. Face the camera. Smile. Photos.

How shall we walk? I’m always proud of my walk. When I am walking, my back stays straight and my steps are stable. Some people said: “You look so confident.”

After the course, I realized that... Oh my God, I walk like a man! How does a fair lady walk? The back stays straight; hands rise a little bit. When you walk, your knees should touch each other.

How has this course influenced my life? During workdays, I rarely wear high heels, because I often rush to work. The bus comes at 7:30 a.m., but I won’t go out until 7:22. This is how I get to the bus stop. I walk very fast with my cellphone in hand. At 7:23, I walk fast. At 7:25, I need to walk faster. At 7:26, I have to run.

This course taught me that fair ladies never rush. After that, I forced myself to get up earlier. I walk slowly with my cellphone in my hand. It was no longer used to remind me of the time, but to take photos. I like recording beautiful things by taking pictures.

When I get up earlier, I can try to walk like a queen. I have time to observe and record something beautiful and meaningful. I just left five minutes earlier, but it gave me a chance to be elegant. A small change makes a big difference. Would you like to have a try?
