The XIX International Botanical Congress Professional Exhibition, which is showcasing the latest international research in the field of botany, is an essential part of the congress. The hall is hosting a total of 108 standard 9-square-meter booths and 24 specially decorated booths of over 36 square meters. Nearly 110 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, including China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the U.S., the U.K., Australia, the Netherlands, Israel and South Korea, are all participating in the exhibition.

It covers renowned enterprises in periodical and magazine publishing as well as the scientific equipment, medical, landscaping, software and biotech industries. The number of exhibitors at this year’s congress has already reached a record high.

Using lights to replace sunshine for plants in soilless culture

The booth of Fujian Sanan Sino-Science Photobiotech Co. has attracted numerous visitors from home and abroad with fresh vegetables shining under the lights at the exhibition.

The company is providing a system solution for plant factories. In a plant factory, staff can control the temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, nutrients and other elements with a computer. Therefore, vegetables can be exposed to different lights to optimize high-yield production. This process doesn’t require soil and is pollution-free in a real sense.

They have built a functioning vertical planting model, “a small plant factory”, complete with a water supply, drainage, power supply and lights, in their exhibition area. According to Cai-Li Yang of Fujian Sanan Sino-Science Photobiotech Co., they design different kinds of lights to cater to the needs of different plants and provide the precise light conditions these plants need to grow indoors.
