Bijia Mountain Public Art Week

Bijia Mountain Public Art Week will feature modern dance shows and documentaries on dancing. Audience members can claim free tickets at WeChat “mingevents” or “szftjsf.”

The dance shows will be presented by Guangzhou Modern Dance Company and Guangzhou Blossom Troupe.

At the Aug. 3 dance show, Hong Kong sound artist Dickson Dee will collaborate with mainland musician Li Yuanqing, U.S. sound artist Nelson Hiu and Canadian musician Stephan Emery to play music on blue and white porcelains.

Dickson Dee, whose real name is Li Chin-sung, has been engaged in the experimental music industry for more than 25 years. His career started with him setting up independent label Noise Asia in Hong Kong in 1989. Besides running the label, he is a curator. He has made great contributions to the development of experimental music in China.

The Aug. 4 dance show was created by Liu Qi who mixed ballet with modern dance and Chinese folk dance.

British documentary “Uath Lochans” and Chinese documentary “Mother Dance None” will be shown Aug. 3-4. “Uath Lochans” features a solo dancer’s physical and visceral dissection of place, shot on location in the mountainous landscape of Uath Lochans, Scotland.

Time: 7-7:30 p.m. (documentaries), 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (dance shows), Aug. 3-4
