App-based cabbie detained for drug driving
    2017-August-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN app-based cabbie was put under detention for driving under the influence of drugs Friday night. He was detained after his car hit a van in Bao’an District, sznews.com reported.

The 27-year-old driver, identified as Lin, was contracted with Didi Chuxing, an app-based taxi company. On Friday night, a woman surnamed Zhang took Lin’s taxi. According to a post made by Zhang on her WeChat Moments, Lin was acting abnormally after she got in his vehicle.

It became apparent that Lin did not know the way to Zhang’s destination, but barely responded to Zhang’s questions while driving. Lin then lost control and started to shake his head while turning the steering wheel randomly before bumping into a van.

Luckily Zhang was not hurt and she called police, who found drugs inside Lin’s car after arriving at the scene. Bao’an police later found that Lin had taken drugs before driving. He was put under a five-day administrative detention and will be prohibited from driving for three years.

Didi responded that they had already disqualified Lin as an app-based cabbie. (Zhang Qian)
