New air route
SHENZHEN Airlines yesterday began operation of a summer flight from Shenzhen to Mohe City in Heilongjiang Province, the northernmost tip of China.
The flight operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It leaves Shenzhen at 9:55 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive in Mohe at 5:55 p.m. The returned flight leaves Mohe at 7:40 p.m. and arrives in Shenzhen at 1:05 a.m.
Lead bullets
LUOHU Customs recently caught a woman who had hidden around 3,000 bullets in 18 shampoo bottles before crossing the border.
The X-ray machine at Luohu Checkpoint showed bottles of shampoo that looked more like pearl milk tea. After checking the suspicious looking woman July 15, they found that the pearls were lead bullets.
Diarrhea outbreak
THE city’s entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau detected a diarrhea outbreak caused by an inbound traveler carrying vibrio cholera recently. The Chinese patient, who was returning from Thailand, was confirmed to have been infected with vibrio cholera July 26.
