Wu Li’s paintings

Dozens of watercolor and oil paintings created by Chinese artist Wu Li are on display at two exhibitions. Wu’s oil paintings, full of tension and emotion, depict the most mundane subjects of life.

Dates: Until Aug. 22

Biodiversity

“Seeing Life” is a biodiversity exhibition featuring photos of Shenzhen plants and animals. “There are more than 20,000 species of animals and hybrids of plants in Shenzhen,” said Shenzhen author and photographer Nan Zhaoxu, who curated the exhibition.

Dates: Until Aug. 20

Plant art

“In the Name of Plants — The Past and Future of an Old Factory” is a unique art experience, showcasing Chinese and Japanese art. The exhibition is comprised of 10 exhibited items, from metal flowers to lighting installations.

Dates: Until Aug. 31

Venue: OCT-LOFT, Nanshan District (南山区华侨城创意文化园)

Metro: Line 1, Qiaocheng East Station (侨城东站), Exit A; or Line 2, Qiaocheng North Station (侨城北站), Exit B

Shanxi cultural relics

More than 200 treasures from the Northern Dynasties (386-581) unearthed in Shanxi Province are on display. It is the first time for the Shenzhen Museum to hold an exhibition specializing in the history of the period.
