Police apologize over misunderstanding
    2017-August-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN traffic police apologized to a Shanghai man on Weibo after the man complained that he had received many text messages about traffic violations in Shenzhen, although he neither lives nor has a car license in the city, according to a Southern Metropolis Daily report.

The netizen wrote a post on Weibo, saying that he is a local resident in Shanghai and he doesn’t have a car license in Shenzhen but has received many text messages from the Shenzhen traffic police notifying him about his traffic violations in the city.

He filed a complaint on the traffic police’s app but was asked to register his ID card with the department of motor vehicles in Shenzhen. The man felt frustrated after his calls to inquire were disconnected.

Shenzhen traffic police reposted the man’s post on their official Weibo.

“We are so sorry. We will investigate the case and solve the problem for you as soon as possible,” the post read.
