Funds to be raised for 20 projects
    2017-August-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN Press group is planning to put 4 million yuan (US$600,400) into 20 new projects at Yase Village, Heyuan City.

Four of the projects include the construction of street lamps for an 8-kilometer-long road, the expansion and repair of the village’s main road, reconstruction of two dangerous bridges and construction of the village committee building, the Daily Sunshine reported.

At present, the newly built street lamps on the 8-kilometer-long road have been put into use, so the villagers no longer have to walk in the dark. The expansion and repair of the village’s main road was completed last week. After the reconstruction of the two dangerous bridges kicks off, the construction of the village committee building will be opened for bids, and is expected to start in September.

Funds for the construction of the village’s main road were donated by Shenzhen Press Group and its affiliated newspaper the Daily Sunshine. Hu Hongxia, editor-in-chief of the Daily Sunshine, said that the road will be renamed “Sunshine Road,” which echoes the newspaper’s motto. He also hopes that the lives of the villagers will be full of sunshine and warmth.

In addition, the reconstruction of the two dangerous bridges, Daba Bridge and Shahe Bridge, kicked off Aug. 9. The reconstruction of Daba Bridge is being led by the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily and was funded by Hong Kong Cheung Kei Group, while that of Shahe Bridge was co-funded by Shenzhen Xuanhong Financial, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, the Shenzhen Economic Daily, the Shenzhen Evening News and the Daily Sunshine.
