Wrestling superstars coming to town
    2017-08-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will bring a live event to Shenzhen for the first time, as WWE Live China comes to the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center on Sept. 17. The event marks WWE’s return to China following last year’s successful show at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.

“The WWE superstars will deliver an action-packed night of family-friendly entertainment,” said Jay Li, vice president and general manager of WWE China.

Fans attending WWE Live China will be able to see their favorite superstars, including John Cena, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, The New Day, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Sami Zayn and many more.

WWE is a U.S. entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling, with revenue also coming from film, music, video games, product licensing and direct product sales. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1952 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation Ltd, the company is the largest wrestling promotion in the world, holding over 500 events a year. WWE shows are not legitimate contests, but purely entertainment-based, featuring storyline-driven, scripted and choreographed matches. Since the 1980s, WWE publicly has branded their product as sports entertainment, acknowledging the product’s roots in both sport and performance.
