‘Bubble Up’ at Harbor City
    2017-08-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Harbor City in Hong Kong is launching a public art project, “Bubble Up,” by inviting Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki to host his first solo art exhibition with millions of bubbles.

The project, titled “Memorial Rebirth,” uses a 3-meter tall, six-tiered machine with 50 bubble-producing units to spew out 10,000 bubbles every minute, using up about 35 liters of bubble mix every 15 or 20 minutes.

The exhibition will also feature Ohmaki staging 20 types of bubble performances. “I wanted to create a space made with bubbles and light for people to ponder what would happen if the world disappeared instantly like a bubble,” he commented.

Dates: Aug. 18-20

Hours: 2:30-6:30 p.m.

Venue: Ocean Terminal Forecourt, Harbor City, Kowloon, Hong Kong

MTR: Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit L5
