Missing girl found after 50 hours
    2017-August-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was found by the police in Nanshan District on Friday, after going missing Wednesday afternoon, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

The police found the girl, surnamed Yang, on Friday evening, and immediately informed her family that the girl was safe and sound. A family member said that Yang had come to Shenzhen last year and was working at a factory near Nantou Checkpoint.

On Wednesday afternoon, she was about to take a bus home when she went missing from the bus station.

It has been reported that the girl is introverted and doesn’t have many friends. When the family lost contact with her, they tried to call her but could not reach her. Her family also found it strange that her mobile phone had been turned off, and was later turned on but remained unanswered.

In another case, two high school students were rescued Thursday after they lost their way in Nan’ao forest. A 28-member rescue team divided in two spent 16 hours on the rescue.

At about 7 p.m. last Wednesday, the forest fire brigade in Nan’ao received a call from the emergency center, saying that two high school students had lost their way near Dayanding. The students found themselves on a serious deviation from the designed route between Yangmeikeng and Dongchong. One had slight scratches on his hands and legs and needed help.

It has been reported that the place is so remote that even experienced forest rangers could get lost in the evening. What made the rescue work difficult was the steep slopes and weak mobile phone signal in the wild mountains. Since the place is very remote, neither vehicles nor a boat can reach it, so the rescue team had to walk the long distance. After a night’s search, the students were found at 9 a.m. the next day.
