REMEMBER those amazing Hallelujah Mountains on Pandora in the film “Avatar?” Well, James Cameron got the idea of the floating mountains in “Avatar” from Hallelujah Mountain located in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which was renamed after the film.

Good news is, to check out natural wonders like this, you don’t need to travel all the way to Zhangjiajie. Because right here in Meizhou we have the same impressive Hallelujah Mountains — Meizhou Wuzhi Mountain (Five Fingers Mountain).

Apart from the pillar-like formations which make the mountains look like they are hovering like those in Zhangjiajie, here you can also try out the breathtaking glass skywalks in the Wuzhishi Scenic Area.

The glass skywalks are suspended 200 meters above the ground. If you are brave enough, just look down to check out the stunning green view under your feet. You will be amazed at the beauty of nature. But beware, as many visitors have been so scared that they needed to be dragged across.

Featuring the highest skywalk in Guangdong, here you will be able to witness the expansive and primitive Danxia landforms the region is famous for.

Once you are here, you will also have the chance to explore amazing traditional Hakka walled villages featured in the animated feature film “Big Fish & Begonia.”

Hakka walled villages are large multi-family communal structures that are designed to be easily defended. Walled villages are typically designed for defensive purposes and consist of one entrance and no windows at the ground level.

On top of that, make sure to try out the mud baths at Wuhua Thermal Mineral Mud-bath Villa. You may be wondering whether that’s an activity that appeals more to children and elephants than to you. But don’t worry because you are gonna fall in love with it.

Submerge yourself in the warm, soft mud and release yourself into the moment. The most proven reason to take a mud bath is that it is simply relaxing. The warm mud is like a form-fitting blanket, in which you float naturally, suspended just below the surface.

The temperature makes you perspire, cleansing your pores. The health benefits are not proven, but people say a mud bath will improve your complexion, relieve joint and muscle pain and remove toxins from the body.

Also, the Hakka Acacia Valley here, a 3-A scenic tourist spot, is worth visiting. You will encounter waterfalls, rice terraces and lush forests.
