Alice was a new student of Green Park International School. Her family just moved here from Singapore last month. Today was her first day of school. She missed her old friends and didn’t want to go to the new school at all. When she got to her class, nobody knew her, and everyone ignored her as if she was invisible. Every time she needed help, nobody helped her. She was unsure of what to do and felt overwhelmingly depressed and lonely.

Finally the long day of school was over, and she went home alone very unhappily. Her parents were curious about Alice’s first day. While eating, they asked Alice about her day. But Alice was so unhappy that she didn’t want to say anything. Her father grew angry and said: “Why don’t you respond to my questions, Alice? Don’t you know it is very rude?” Alice burst into tears, and it seemed as if all the discontent was ignited, and a terrible argument began. In the end, Alice ran to her room and locked her door as tightly as she could.

That night, Alice slept on her bed and thought of what happened during the day. She was confused and angry. She didn’t want to stay at home with her parents and go to that unfriendly school anymore. After her parent fell asleep, she tiptoed out of the room and opened the front door of the house and disappeared into the darkness.

Alice felt so excited. She had never gone out at midnight before. She could smell the freshness of the cold air. Everything around her was so new and enchanting. She didn’t know where to go yet, but she knew for certain she didn’t want to go home. She thought of her parents and imagined how angry they would be when they found out that she had disappeared. Alice began exploring the town. There wasn’t anyone accompanying her except for her shadow. Then, suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, another black shadow appeared.

Meeting Luis

Alice was shocked. Who was it? What if it was a bad guy? This place was very different from Singapore. When she arrived here, her dad warned her that it was dangerous wandering around at night because there were lots of bad guys at night. The shadow was frightened too. But after a few seconds of hesitation, it decided to walk towards Alice. Alice was really scared but she didn’t know what to do. She twisted her hands helplessly, and she couldn’t move her feet. It was as if they were planted in the ground. She thought about a million things that the guy would do to her.

Finally, Alice was able to see the person’s face. Oh my God! It was Justin Timberlake! No way Alice, get out of your fantasy. It was just a guy who looked like Justin Bieber, not Justin Timberlake. Then she was shocked. Not because this person looked like Justin Bieber, but because Alice saw this guy in school today. He was the only person that talked to her, and that’s why she remembered him. From what she remembered, his name was something like Luis. He also was new to Green Park International School, but what was he doing in the middle of nowhere? Alice couldn’t stop herself from asking.

“Hey um, Luis, what are you doing here?”

“I think that should be my question. It’s really dangerous for a girl to come out at this time of night.”

“I don’t know, I had an argument with my parents.”

“Really? Same here!”

Then, they started a long conversation complaining about their new school and their parents. They found out that they were experiencing the same problem and both of them were running away from home. It was such a coincidence. So she decided to go with Luis. At least this was better than being alone, thought Alice. “I hate school, and I might be happier staying with Luis.”

Luis showed lots of enthusiasm towards Alice, and soon she became a close friends with him. Before she even got a chance to ask Luis if he wanted to run away with her, he asked first. Alice was so glad that they thought of the same thing. Without hesitation, she agreed happily. But then came the next problem: Where could they stay for tonight?

A kidnap

It was almost midnight, and they began their adventure of searching for a place to stay for the night. After walking for about 20 minutes, they ran into an old man who looked really nice. They asked him if he would let them stay at his place for one night. He agreed right away and took them to his house. After they got there they found out that this person was a farmer. He led them to the barn and told them that it was the only place he could offer.

It was not an ideal place at all but at least it was warm. The farmer looked like a really kind person. After chatting for a few minutes, they found out that his name was Eddy, and he was from Australia. Then Eddy went away and left Alice and Luis inside the barn. They were unable to sleep since they had never spent a night in a barn. They talked about the possible ways to get their stuff out of their houses and tried to fall sleep.

Suddenly, the door opened and a man in black entered. He looked pretty strong, and was about 6 feet tall. Because of the darkness, Alice and Luis couldn’t see clearly what the man looked like. They both felt very nervous and pretended they were asleep.

As the man walked closer, he woke them up and forced them to follow him. Being too afraid to disobey, they did what the man asked them to do. Alice and Luis followed the man out of the room and went into a van. They could finally see the man. He was wearing a mask! Through the mask, Alice could only see his cold eyes. They suddenly realized they were being kidnapped.
