Fugitive caught
A FUGITIVE surnamed Wang was caught by Shenzhen police Tuesday. He had been on the run for 17 years after allegedly killing a security guard Oct. 31, 2000, in a nightclub in his hometown Danzhou City, Hainan Pro-vince.
Wang was wanted by police, and on Monday, Shenzhen police received a clue that Wang had appeared in an apartment building in Yantian District. Danzhou police officers arrived in Shenzhen and started an ambush with Shenzhen police officers near the apartment building.
Wang was caught while he was cooking in the kitchen. After the killing, Wang, then 29, used different names to work in different places to evade police hunt.
Missing boy found
A 10-YEAR-OLD boy in Guangming New Area, who went missing Tuesday night, was found by police after a two-hour search.
Gongming Police Station received a report from Matian Subdistrict saying the 10-year-old child had gone missing. Officers and security guards started to search using digital photos of the child and found him walking alone in the street at around midnight.
New landmark
THE designs by Mecanoo Architecten in the Netherlands for the business area of Shenzhen North Railway Station won the top prize at an expert review meeting Wednesday.
Seven globally well-known architects and masters attended the meeting to review the designs submitted by eight design companies.
Shenzhen North Railway Station Business Area is close to the eastern square of the station.
