A WOMAN surnamed Zhao recently became upset as she was working from home at the request of her boss, but hadn’t received a salary since October.

The woman and her colleagues had been hoping to get the more than 200,000 yuan (US$30,140) in back wages their boss with Shenzhen Zhongfeishang Technology Co. owed them. However, their wait was in vain as the boss, surnamed Wei, disappeared and the company’s office was evacuated due to owing rent to the property management.

Zhao and other employees have applied for arbitration. An investigation showed that the company had gone bankrupt and was in heavy debt. Lawyers suggested that they take court action even though the company had gone bankrupt. (Richard Han)
