SHENZHEN (Brisbane) International Culture Innovation Incubation Center and Sino-Australia Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum were inaugurated at The Capital Innovation Center on Queen Street in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday.

This year is the 25th anniversary of friendly exchange between Shenzhen and Brisbane. The center will enhance cooperation between the two cities in culture creation and innovation.

The center will also organize a series of activities in trade and investment.

The center is managed and operated by Shenzhen University City Innovation Park Investment and Management Co. It has two offices. The office in Shenzhen will be inaugurated at Shenzhen Bay International Culture Creation Industry Incubation Center on Sept. 18.

Expressway to Meizhou

THE trip from Shenzhen to Meizhou, in northeastern Guangdong, will be cut by 30 to 40 minutes when the Xingning-Wuhua Expressway is put into operation at the end of September.

The 84-km expressway forms the second north-south expressway in Guangdong’s eastern and northeastern area, joining the Pingyuan-Xingning section of Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway and Shanwei-Luhe Expressway. It is connected with Meizhou-Heyuan Expressway and Shantou-Zhanjiang Expressway.

New typhoon

TYPHOON Mawar, the 16th typhoon of the year, has formed in the sea near the Philippines, and is approaching the southeast coast of China. It may bring rain to coastal cities in Guangdong around Sunday.

Shenzhen’s meteorological observatory issued a white alert for the typhoon at 5 p.m. Thursday.
