Courier misled by GPS into mountain wilderness
    2017-September-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MISLED by the GPS on his mobile phone, a courier lost his way in Tanglang Mountain, Nanshan District, on his way to deliver a parcel Monday night, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Wednesday.

The police received a call from the man at about 11 p.m. As the connection had a lot of noise and the signal seemed very weak, the police could not hear the man’s request very clearly.

After repeated confirmation, the police realized that the man was a courier and had lost his way on Tanglang Mountain because of some GPS problems on his phone.

After getting the report, the police immediately rushed to the scene. However, the man was very anxious because both his cell phone and electric bike were running out of power. Although the mountain was foggy and slippery due to the recent typhoon, the police sped up to the mountain. Through their unremitting efforts, the police finally found the courier on the greenway.

It turned out that as that day was Qixi Festival, the courier had received an order to deliver a bunch of roses. He thought that it would be convenient to go home after the delivery, but didn’t expect he would be misled by the GPS.

As it continued to rain and the road was slippery, the police were worried that the courier’s electric bike would not have enough power, so they escorted the man to Shenzhen North Railway Station.
