TWO children, one aged 13 and another aged 9, had planned to ride app-based bikes from Shenzhen back to their hometown in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province on Aug. 25.
A man, surnamed Huang, found his son and daughter were missing Aug. 25. By the time it was afternoon, he still could not find the kids, so he immediately called the police. It turned out that the two children had unlocked two app-based bikes and were on their way back to Zhanjiang.
The sister’s bike was broken not long after they hit the road, so the elder brother gave her a ride. The two refused to answer their father’s calls and soon had spent all their money. Although their mobile phone and power bank were powered off, and they were tired, hungry and scared, they decided to move on according to the road signs.
The police found them in Pengjiang District, Jiangmen City the next day. When asked why they had left home, they said they were unsatisfied with their father’s plan to have them study in Shenzhen. (Zhang Yu)
