A taste of Malaysia AT CAFE ZEN
    2017-09-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CAFE Zen of Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen will present the Taste of Malaysia, a food festival highlighting many of Malaysia’s well-loved treats and timeless dishes, through Sept. 8. The hotel has invited two Malaysian chefs to present traditional Malaysian food and its intensely fragrant flavors to guests.

Guests will be able to savor authentic Malaysian specialties, including braised beef in coconut and spices and rendang daging, satay chicken (sautéed chicken with chillies and dried shrimp paste that is ubiquitous in Malaysian kitchens) and fish head curry with vegetables (kari kepala ikan with curry and vegetables). Classic Malaysian desserts, such as bubur cha cha, bubur pulut hitam and agar agar, will also be available during the meals.

A live station is another highlight of the food festival. The cooking process of such Malaysian delicacies as rojak buah (traditional fruit salad mixed with shrimp paste, sambal and chilli sauce) and daging dan ayam sate (grilled satay with condiments), as well as an Indian teh tarik performance, will be showcased on site.

The Taste of Malaysia promotion is not only a special treat for Malaysian food lovers, but also a culinary experience for those new to ethnic Southeast Asian cuisine.

Guests can enjoy the buffet at 238 yuan per person for lunch from Mondays to Saturdays and at 328 yuan per person on Sundays. Dinner is available at 338 yuan per person from Sundays to Thursdays and at 398 yuan per person Fridays and Saturdays. All prices are subject to 10 percent service charge and prevailing government taxes and value-added tax payable together with the service charge.(Tang Li)
