New director at Marco Polo

MARCO Polo Hotels Group has appointed Michael Loh as director of restaurants, bars and events of Marco Polo Shenzhen.

Loh is an overseas Chinese from Malaysia. He has more than 12 years of experience in hospitality, with vast international experience in many international brands and dining groups, such as Mandarin Oriental, InterContinental, Hyatt, Marriott, Wharf Hotels, Dining Concept and Manna Catering Group in Hong Kong.

He started his career in food and beverage operations and devoted himself to learning the culinary arts. He studied and cooperated with many Michelin chefs to improve his industry attainments. With years of experience in restaurant management, he is good at developing strategies including menu planning, marketing, refurbishing and budgeting. He is also good at defining clear objectives for the team in terms of costs, revenue, hygiene and guest satisfaction.

“Loh focuses on details and achieving business objectives by using a wide range of creativity and knowledge. With his knowledge and creativity, we are looking forward to his bringing the Marco Polo Shenzhen RB&E team to the next level,” said Christoph Hoeflich, general manager of Marco Polo Shenzhen.(Maggie Tang)
