Security augmented

SHENZHEN Airport are stepping up security procedures until Wednesday following the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s new ruling and reminds travelers to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flights.

Laptops, cameras and umbrellas should go through security scanners independently. One passenger can take a maximum of two phone batteries with output rated below 160 watt hours.

Lost & Found

A WOMAN left luggage containing watches, a wallet, diamond rings and a necklace with a total value of 520,000 yuan (US$80,000) at Shenzhen Airport on Aug. 28.

Security cameras showed a piece of her luggage dropping from the cart while the woman was pushing it to the parking lot. Police found that a vehicle that passed by the luggage stopped for 10 seconds before it drove away. Police contacted the car owner, who returned the luggage to the woman Aug. 29.
