Chess fraud
A MAN surnamed Li was recently cheated out of more than 14,000 yuan (US$2,135) in a scam involving Chinese chess games near Shenda Metro Station in Nanshan District.
Three suspects have been detained for organizing the chess gambling and coaxing pedestrians into joining. Over four rounds, Li lost a total of 14,200 yuan before he realized he had been trapped in the scam.
Chilean Week
AN array of activities have been initiated since Aug. 29 in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hong Kong and Wuhan to strengthen cooperation between Chile and China during Chilean Week, which will end Friday.
In Shenzhen, the Chilean government delegation hopes to strengthen cooperation in technology and trade.
