1,351 iPhones seized

SHENZHEN Customs recently seized a total of 1,351 iPhones in two separate smuggling cases at Shatoujiao Checkpoint and Wenjindu Checkpoint recently.

On Aug. 30, a truck that declared empty to Shatoujiao Customs triggered the alarm as it entered Shenzhen. Customs officers found 676 mobile phones packed in two boxes in the truck’s emissions purification tank.

On the same day at Wenjindu Checkpoint, customs officers found 675 mobile phones hidden in a modified fuel tank. The checkpoint has seized 1,936 iPhones in five smuggling cases so far this year.
