Home owners in Huafucun in Futian District sign urban renewal contracts with a State-owned housing developer Saturday. The eastern and western parts of Huafucun will be torn down in an urban renewal project that will build new apartment buildings in the area. Under the government-led program, if at least 90 percent of the owners of the 2,343 apartments in the eastern and western parts of Huafucun agree to the government proposal, the urban renewal project will proceed, and the original home owners will be given new apartments, while additional apartments will be designated for talents eligible for government-subsidized housing.
