Alice soon fell in love with this magical wonderland. While they were eating, they met another boy. He looked the same age as Alice and Luis.

“Hi. Nice to meet you. Want to be friends with me?”

“Of course. I’m Alice, and this is my friend Luis. What’s your name?”

“Aha, nice to meet you guys. Well, my name is not that important and you don’t have to know it. Just call me whatever you want.”

“Oh, that’s strange, why don’t you have a name?”

“Actually, I forgot my name, but whatever, names are not important. We don’t need names here anyway.”

“All right then, I think I can call you Forgotten, since you forgot your name, hahaha.”

“That’s an interesting name.”

At first, Luis was a bit worried about this place, because he didn’t believe there was actually a place where children didn’t have to work or study, but only played and have fun. He thought it was too good to be true. But after eating and drinking, he finally believed everything was real and started to enjoy it.

The next day, Alice and Luis were taking a walk in the wonderland. Suddenly, they ran into Forgotten again.

“Hi, nice to meet you! Want to be friends with me?” he said happily.

“Are you Forgotten? I met you yesterday,” said Alice curiously.

“Oh? Is that true? I don’t think I have seen you before.”

Alice and Luis felt very strange. They just walked away.

A few days later, they couldn’t find Forgotten anymore. They wondered where Forgotten had gone. So they decided to look for him. They searched everywhere, but they didn’t find him.

While they were having dinner that night, Luis was still thinking about the conversation between Alice and Forgotten. Then he overheard a conversation between two adults who were sitting at the next table. They were talking about the missing kids.

He felt very scared because he heard that every kid who drank the coke here would gradually lose their memory. When they forgot everything, they would be taken to a mine far away to mine coal for the rest of their lives.

“That’s horrible! We have to escape!” thought Luis.

Unfortunately Happy Land was surrounded by tall gates and walls. The only way to escape was to jump off the steep cliff on the east into the ocean and swim to the nearby island. That was their only hope.

So at midnight, Alice and Luis, hand in hand, jumped into the ocean.

Dream

Just when Alice started to jump she heard a knock on the door.

“Alice, open the door!”

She suddenly woke up and realized that everything was a dream. The dream was so scary and she felt so relieved that it was not true.

Alice opened the door and gave her mom a big hug. From now on she would treasure the time she spent with her family.

She would find a positive way to face her new life in her new school, and she would never think of running away from home again. She grew up.
