My first American friend

This summer I attended a summer camp in the United States. This was my first trip overseas, and I made my first American friend on this trip.

My first friend is very tall. Her name is Amelia. She has very long hair, and I think she is beautiful, not only because how she looks on the outside but also because she is very kind and friendly.

This was my first overseas trip alone. There were many things new to me. I didn’t know what to do. She always came to help me when I was in trouble. She was very patient and explained all the details to me. She loves smiling and it makes her look more beautiful.

Anytime I saw her, the smile showed on her face. And she laughed a lot when somebody said or did something funny. She is a very positive person and it influences people around her. I always felt happy when I was around this kind of people.

Amelia was the tallest girl on our team. Everyone liked her very much. She likes photography and she loves animals. Cats are her favorite and they are mine too. Cats are so cute: We both agreed on this. But one day, she was petting a snake and tried to get me to touch it. Oh, no! In my culture, snakes can be eaten as food. I don’t want to pet a snake! I carefully walked away from her and the snake and heard her laughing and saying, “I know you are afraid of snakes. I’m just teasing you.” We laughed together.

This is my best friend from the United States — Amelia. Thank you for helping me throughout those memorable two weeks! I will never forget that happy trip!My summer camp in the United States.
