Reservoir greenway

LUOHU urban administration will begin construction on Taojinshan Greenway and Mt. Wutong Greenway, which will be standard greenways that separate walkers from vehicles.

The Taojinshan Greenway, to the west of Shenzhen Reservoir, will be part of a greenway that circles around Shenzhen Reservoir. Sixty percent of the project will be completed before the end of the year. The greenways to the north and south of the reservoir are being planned, according to a meeting of the Luohu urban administration. Luohu has completed 155.2 km of a greenway network that circles the urban area, runs along rivers and passes through ecological and country parks.

Employment cheats

POLICE in Longhua District recently arrested five suspects who had cheated 38 students from other cities out of nearly 10,000 yuan (US$1,533) through an employment scam, a meeting of Longhua police said.

The criminal ring pretended to introduce the jobseekers to jobs in factories or companies, demanding that they pay some fees.

Police set up task forces this July to tackle crimes and ensure public safety in Jingle Community in Longhua Subdistrict. The task forces closed four job agencies for being involved in scams, arrested nine people for using other people’s ID cards to register businesses and closed five apartment buildings with fire and safety hazards and 18 Internet bars.

Two new roads

SHENYUN West No. 4 Road and Tanglang East Road, which are two traffic improvement projects in Nanshan District, were put into use last week.

The 165-meter-long Shenyun West No. 4 Road is located to the south of Beihuan Boulevard and north of Qiaoxiang Road. Some businesses, like Artron Arts Center, as well as residents in the Shenyun area, will benefit from the road.
