Man tries to snatch bus’ steering wheel
    2017-September-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IN a bid to get off a bus, a male passenger in Shenzhen attempted to snatch the steering wheel from the bus driver Wednesday morning.

Luckily the incident did not lead to an accident as the bus driver clung tight to the steering wheel. The man’s actions drew condemnation from the other passengers on the bus, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

The chaos took place at around 7:43 in the morning, after the male passenger got on the bus at Buji station in Longgang District. The man found that he had boarded the wrong bus after the bus left the station and wanted to get off before the bus arrived at the next stop.

The bus attendant explained to the man that he could take the ride for free and get off the bus at the next stop to wait for the right bus. However, the male passenger insisted on getting off at once. The attendant again explained that no passenger was allowed to get on or off before arriving at a stop.

After being refused a few times, the furious man dashed at the bus driver and tried to take control of the steering wheel. The man’s insane behavior frightened the other passengers.

The bus driver, Liang Deyi, used all of his strength to hold on to the steering wheel and stopped the bus. Meanwhile, the attendant, Li Zhongli, along with a woman sitting in the front row, came up to stop the male passenger.

The man made two more attempts at grabbing the steering wheel and shouted insults at the driver. He was eventually held back by the attendant and put in a seat far from the bus driver. The man finally got off the bus at the next stop amid the passengers’ condemnations.
