THE demand for rental apartments in Futian and Nanshan has been soaring as the two districts, which are the home of the headquarters of many innovation-oriented enterprises, are preferred by many fresh graduates just moving to Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.
Newly arrived graduates have lifted the demand for rental homes in the Xinzhou, Yitian and Huanggang areas near the Futian Central Business District. The apartments being rented recently were between 40 and 70 square meters, with monthly rents ranging from 85 yuan to 125 yuan per square meter.
Data from Midland Realty and anjuke.com showed that nearly half of the rental apartments leased in Futian CBD are large or medium-sized apartments — bigger than 90 square meters — with monthly rents ranging from 4,000 to 20,000 yuan.
More than 60 percent of rental apartments being leased in the Nongke area are larger than 100 square meters, with monthly rents of above 10,000 yuan.
Many rental apartments in Nanshan CBD are small, between 24 and 45 square meters. The rent for most apartments in Nanshan is above 75 yuan per square meter. Rental apartments in Shekou are also popular, ranging from 30 to 200 square meters with rents between 70 and 130 yuan per square meter.
Most rental apartments leased in the Liantang area in Luohu District are small flats, between 43 and 88 square meters, with monthly rents between 45 and 80 yuan per square meter.
A large number of the one-bedroom apartments in central Bao’an are leased for 100 yuan per square meter, while apartments larger than 100 square meters have an average rent of 80 yuan per sqm. (Zhang Yang)
