Illegal dump trucks

FOUR dump trucks that were carrying construction waste not well covered were each fined 5,000 yuan (US$763.36) by law enforcement officers in Bantian Subdistrict in Longgang District recently.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the two main roads where the dump trucks were reported by residents for littering construction waste and making the air dusty.

After waiting for two nights, the officers divided into two teams and busted the four trucks that had violated rules regarding the transport of construction waste.

Fuel price raised

THE retail prices of fuel were raised for the seventh time this year over the weekend, although the increases were mild, at only 0.07 yuan per liter for No. 92 gasoline and 0.08 yuan per liter for diesel oil.

It costs an additional 3.5 yuan for a resident to fill up their full-sized tank with No. 92 gasoline. However, since there have been 18 rounds of price adjustment this year, the price of oil, in U.S. dollars, has seen an overall decrease this year, according to the national development and reform commission.

E-memorial

RESIDENTS who plan to offer a sacrifice to martyrs Sept. 30, the Memorial Day for Martyrs, can now offer their flowers, joss sticks and candles online through a portal (www.szylw.net) that went online Friday.

A launching ceremony was held last week to celebrate the inauguration of the website, which has incorporated multiple functions to remember the martyrs of Shenzhen. There are a total of 10 columns on the website, including an online platform where residents can offer their sacrifice to the martyrs with virtual offerings.
