A 24-YEAR-OLD Shenzhen man who went missing in a desert in Xinjiang for two days was found Monday, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.
The man, Ye Yuanjie, a native of Qingyuan in northern Guangdong, is an employee of a company in Shenzhen. Ye arrived in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Sept. 10. He went missing Saturday afternoon, his last contact a call to his family. His family notified the authorities Monday after not hearing from Ye for two days.
Ye got back in touch with his family later Monday. According to Ye’s sister, Ye was lost in a desert for two days and found the way back to civilization by himself.
His sister said Ye is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital in Xinjiang.
