Bao’an marathon
THE Bao’an International Marathon will be held Dec. 3, beginning in the square at the district government office building. Online registration for the event opened at www.baoan-marathon.com on Thursday.
A total of 20,000 participants will be admitted to the event, consisting of 5,000 spots for the full-length race, 8,000 spots for the half-length race and 7,000 spots for the 5km fun run. Registrants will be admitted to the race via lucky draw Oct. 20, according to the organizer.
Separately, running enthusiasts can register for the 2018 New Year Race on the official website www.newyearmarathon.cn. Registration opens at 10 a.m. Saturday. The race capacity is a maximum of 35,000 runners for the 42-km full length marathon, according to the organizer.
Pants rejected
SHENZHEN Yantian Port denied a shipment of 5,652 imported pairs of pants entry into China for containing excessive formaldehyde.
Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said the products, coming in at market value of US$99,136.08, were produced in Indonesia and the bureau had informed the manufacturer to investigate the cause and make plans for quality improvement. The insulating layer on the trousers may have contained excessive amounts of formaldehyde, according to the bureau.
