Holiday Metro service

SHENZHEN Metro will extend service to midnight Saturday, Sunday and Oct. 4 when the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated. The Metro schedule for other days during the eight-day holiday period between Oct. 1 and 8 remains unchanged.

Car plate price

SHENZHEN license plates were auctioned off at an average price of 58,538 yuan (US$8,839) in the latest monthly auction Monday.

This was the highest average bidding price since the city adopted an auction approach to distributing license plates to applicants in 2015, in addition to a lottery that allows winners to apply for license plates free of charge.

Fake moon cakes

THE Nanshan police and Alibaba’s anti-counterfeit team busted a ring selling counterfeit moon cakes online that infringed the rights of well-known brands.

Five suspects were arrested and 374 boxes of moon cakes were confiscated.

Police investigation showed the suspects made a profit of 500,000 yuan through the sale of 2,000 boxes of moon cakes.

Science film week

THE Second Shenzhen International Science Film Week concluded Sunday with a ceremony at Shenzhen Media Group Building.

The film week attracted more than 10,000 attendees to 20 activities that were developed around 12 themes relating to science films.
