AN unlicensed long-distance bus was impounded for carrying 53 passengers to Jiangxi Province by Bao’an traffic police near Songgang Subdistrict Office on the morning of Oct. 2, sznews.com reported yesterday.
At about 9 a.m., traffic police officers found the long-distance bus that had neither a road transport permit nor a certified business license.
Officers discovered that 44 of the passengers on the bus had bought tickets at a coach station in Shajing. They took a legal bus from the station, but were asked to transfer to this bus later.
Officers contacted another vehicle, transferred all of the 53 passengers. They impounded the unlicensed bus and went to the coach station to continue the investigation. Police said those who transferred passengers to the illegal bus will be punished.
During the eight-day holiday, 348 investigations involved illegal transportation, among which there were 43 cases of unlicensed bus operation, 73 online car-hailing vehicles, 36 small-sized vehicles operating illegally, seven fake taxis and six non-local taxis offering business services. In addition, 19 batches of passengers, amounting to 627 people, were unloaded and transferred. (Zhang Yu)
