OVER 350 complaints were made by consumers in Shenzhen against bike-sharing apps during the National Day holiday between Oct. 1 and Sunday, according to a report released by the Shenzhen Consumer Council yesterday.
The council received 1,835 complaints in total during the holiday period, up by 22.33 percent compared with the same period last year.
According to the report, there were over 350 complaints targeting bike-sharing apps, while more than 300 cases involved Xiaoming Bike’s deposit-refund problems. Many users complained that the company didn’t return their deposits after they tried to apply for a refund for over a month.
The council has paid close attention to the mounting complaints against Xiaoming Bike since September and urged the company to properly solve its users’ problems.
The number of complaints against Xiaoming Bike peaked at 400 cases per day, and the number has declined to nearly 30 cases per day, according to the council.
The report also noted that 437 complaints were made against Internet and telecom service providers during the holiday, declining by 23.47 percent compared with the same period last year. Many users had complained about the unclear mobile phone payments and the poor after-sales services offered by broadband service providers.
The council also received 57 complaints against restaurants and hotels and 18 complaints about tourism services during the holiday.
There were three complaints against a travel agency that had solicited customers with a low-price package tour to Hong Kong Disneyland. The tourists were brought to shopping malls instead of Disneyland as promised after they arrived in Hong Kong.
