Band wins Hard Rock competition
    2017-10-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AFTER a month of reviewing about 100 entries, the Hard Rock Talents Audition announced that Gigantic Band won the best bands and musicians category, while Zhang Yingmin was named the best individual talent of the contest.

In collaboration with NetEase Cloud Music, the Hard Rock Talents Audition was a contest aimed at helping aspiring musicians achieve their dreams of rock stardom. Bands, DJs and live performers from different disciplines had been invited to upload an original three-minute video of themselves performing to NetEase Cloud Music. By winning the hearts of the public and judges, contestants were given a chance to win and as a prize, to perform on-stage at Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen in Longhua District.

Within four weeks, dozens of passionate contestants generated an online audience of over 70,000 music lovers. Nine finalists were selected from the audition videos submitted on NetEase and performed live for the representatives from MIDI Shenzhen, Native Instruments and Hard Rock on Sept. 29 and 30. The showdown was also streamed online.

The finalists enjoyed free luxury accommodation at Hard Rock Shenzhen while winners of each category are invited to perform at the hotel as a guest band, house DJ, or make special event appearances, as well as receive attractive prizes from the hotel.

“We were inspired by the passion and caliber of the contestants and were encouraged by the keen responses from the public,” said Glenn Peat, general manager of the hotel. “Hard Rock is committed to supporting emerging artists by offering them a platform to connect with music fans around the world. We look forward to putting our winners on our stage and sharing their captivating performances with our guests.”

Located in the famed Mission Hills Centreville, the hotel features 258 luxurious rooms and suites, as well as trademark Hard Rock facilities.

With its music-themed amenities and décor, the hotel delivers a unique experience that fuses a luxury stay with fun, music-centered experiences.(SD News)
