Life expectancy

THE average life expectancy in Shenzhen will reach 81.7 in 2020 from the present 80.88 with the improvement of public health conditions, Shenzhen health commission said. In the past five years, the city has invested 89 billion yuan (US$13.51 billion) to build, renovate or expand 60 hospitals, adding 14,600 hospital beds.

Talent park

SHENZHEN Talent Park in Houhai, Nanshan District will be put into use Nov. 1, according to the district government. The park covers an area of 770,000 square meters, including a 300,000-square-meter lake area.

Twins’ difference

A MAN surnamed Cai was intercepted by border officers at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint and stopped from crossing the border to Hong Kong since he was using his twin brother’s travel permit.

Cai had lost his travel permit and asked his brother to apply for a travel permit to Hong Kong in his hometown. However, when he tried to cross the border, the e-lane system showed that his fingerprints were quite different. Cai later admitted that he had used his twin brother’s travel permit.

Drunk driver

A WOMAN surnamed Fei was caught drunk driving last week on Wenjin Road North in Luohu District. The woman didn’t cooperate with the exhalation test and was later taken to a hospital for a blood test. The result showed her alcohol content had reached 101.78 milligrams per 100 milliliters, exceeding the legal limit of 80 milligrams per 100 milliliters.
