“I’VE worked in Shenzhen for 10 years. Chinese people are really awesome and very nice. Thank you so much!” A foreigner spoke with fluent Chinese at the ticket office of a bus parking lot in Songgang, Bao’an District, on the night of Oct. 12.
The foreigner, identified as Homa, had carelessly left his wallet on a bus when he was on his way to a party hosted by his friends in Shajing. After he got off the bus, he found that his wallet was gone. He was very anxious because his entry card, which would be very troublesome to reapply for, was also in the wallet.
He called the bus company’s customer service. In less than half an hour, Homa heard back from the company telling him to come over and claim it.
Liang Bin, the bus driver, found the wallet on the seat, in which there was 2,000 yuan (US$302), HK$1,000 (US$128), bank cards and other valuables. He returned it to the ticket office.
Homa and his friends came to the ticket office and found all the money and goods remaining intact in the wallet. When Homa saw Liang, he held Liang’s hand with excitement and thanked him. (Zhang Yu)
