Shenzhen to become city of flowers
    2017-October-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BY the end of 2019, more than 30 flower-dotted avenues, 20 flower-themed parks, 222 flower-decorated communities, and 444 street gardens will be built in the city, according to a proposal released by the city’s urban administration bureau, sznews.com reported yesterday.

In order to further improve the urban environment, enhance the city’s image and accelerate the construction of a world-class forest city, Shenzhen is working to become a world-famous flower city.

According to the proposal, creating a globally renowned flower city is not only a vital part of building Shenzhen into a national forest city, but also an important move to promote ecological civilization and the construction of a beautiful Shenzhen. It is also of great significance to speed up the construction of a modern, international and innovative city.

The project will be carried out in accordance with scientific planning and basic international principles. With the landscape of international flower cities as the benchmark, the construction will cover the whole city, combining urban space, history and culture, to create a first-rate city landscape with distinctive features.

The three-year ambition will also provide guidance for upgrading the floriculture industry and mobilizing enterprises and social forces to participate in the construction.
