Missing toddler found

A 3-YEAR-OLD child, who had been missing for 24 hours in Baoshan New Village in Dalang, Longhua District, was found Saturday afternoon.

Police and the subdistrict government organized more than 1,000 people to start the search. The boy was later found hidden under tall grass in a 2-meter-deep ditch at the back of a parking lot in the housing estate.

The boy was clear-minded and had no injuries when he was found, according to Long-hua police.

Flights to Laos

HAINAN Airlines opened a direct flight between Shenzhen and Luang Prabang in Laos on Thursday. The flight operates every Wednesday and Sunday. It leaves Shenzhen at 8:55 a.m. and arrives in Luang Prabang at 10 a.m. The return flight leaves Luang Prabang at 11 a.m. and arrives in Shenzhen at 2:20 p.m.

Also, the airline will soon open a twice weekly flight between Shenzhen and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, every Tuesday and Friday. The flight leaves Shenzhen at 5 p.m. and arrives in Vientiane at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday. The Friday flight leaves Shenzhen at 3 p.m. and arrives in Vientiane at 4:20 p.m.

Skill winners

SHENZHEN students made history by winning a silver and two bronzes at the 44th World Skills Contest that concluded in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, according to the city’s human resources and social security bureau Friday.

Three students from Shenzhen Technician School, representing China, participated in the planar design, jewelry processing and 3-D digital games categories.

Fang Yuezhi won the silver medal in planar design, while Hu Fan and Zheng Zonglin won the bronze prizes in the other two categories.
