New hospital

SHENZHEN University General Hospital, the only AAA-level hospital in the Xili area in Nanshan District, will open to the public in March next year.

The hospital, which covers 90,000 square meters, has four buildings including clinic and inpatient buildings.

The first phase, a 138,000-square-meter floor space with 800 beds, has been completed and put into an internal trial operation. Work on the second phase has begun. It will be put into use in 2020, offering an additional 1,000 beds.

Polluters apologize

A TOTAL of 380 enterprises have apologized to the public for polluting the environment since 2016, according to statistics from the city’s environment protection administration.

The administration imposed fines on 1,000 polluters, totaling 90 million yuan (US$13.58 million) per year on average. Some polluters were ordered to make public apologies, where they promised to correct their wrongdoings.

Crab export

THE first batch of hairy crab exports to Hong Kong, weighing 500 kg, have gone through Wenjindu Checkpoint in Shenzhen.

The crabs were farmed in Yiyang, Hunan Province, according to the city’s inspection and quarantine bureau.

Driverless bus zone

GUANGMING will build a driverless public transport demonstration area as part of its strategy to build an intelligent green commuting system, according to the Shenzhen Urban Transportation Planning and Design Research Institute.

The new area has reached an agreement with Shenzhen Transport Center, Shenzhen Bus Group and Kuang-chi to build the intelligent green commuting system.
